Residents of Mominabad Batamaloo Thursday staged protest against “PDD employees” who allegedly barged into the houses without permission, thereby putting the inmates, especially womenfolk at great inconvenience.

The protesters blocked the Tengpora Bypass Batamaloo road for hours demanding action against the culprits.

They claimed that around 12 ‘PDD’ men kicked the doors and entered their houses. “Our daughters were sitting inside and the men introducing themselves as PDD employees rushed inside the houses to demand fine from the females,” said Zahida Akhtar, a local. “They also provided some fake receipts for the charged fine.”

The locals said the “PDD men” threatened two girls in the area who fell unconscious. “They have been admitted in a local hospital,” said Mushtaq Ahmad, a local.

“I was sitting with two daughters when they kicked our door and rushed inside. They threatened us for using heater and asked me to give Rs 1000 without giving any receipt,” said another local. “We want police to take action against them.”

Later, the SHO concerned of the area pacified the protest and assured that the action will be taken against the culprits.
