All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairperson Syed Ali Geelani on Thursday expressed his deep sorrow and shock over the death of 88-year-old politician Mangat Ram Sharma.
Sharma breathed his last early this morning at his Ghandhi Nagar residence in Jammu. He was not keeping well for some time now.
While remembering the days spent with him in assembly, Geelani said that Sharma had brotherly relations with him.
“He often used to say: ‘Kashmir issue will live till Geelani is alive’,” Geelani said in a statement issued by APHC this evening.
The Hurriyat patriarch Geelani further said that Sharma supported “our stand” of ban on liquor and other social issues.
While condoling the bereaved family Geelani said, “I have lost a good and critic friend whom I will remember for long.”
