Police has recovered 10 kgs Charas, 500 grams Ganja and 190 bottles of corex in separate incidents across Jammu on Monday.

Reports said that a police party of Police Station Gangyal, laid a Naka at Kunjwani adjacent to Peerbaba. During the Naka checking, a truck was intercepted and during search about 10 Kgs Charas and currency worth Rs 10 lakh of old denomination Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes were recovered.

A case under FIR No. 137/2016 under Section 8/20 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Gangyal.

Meanwhile, reports said, a police party of Police Station Trikuta Nagar laid a surprised Naka at Sector No 1 Patnitop Morh, Trikuta Nagar and intercepted one i10 car bearing registration No JK02BS-0760 driven by one Parveen Kumar, son of Mohan Lal, resident of H.No 163 Sector No 1 Trikuta Nagar. During search of the vehicle, police recovered 500 grams Ganja and 170 bottles of Corex. The car driver was arrested by the police party on the spot.

A case FIR No. 253/16 under Sections 8,20,21 and 60 NDPS Act was registered and investigation has been started.

Meanwhile, Arnia Police arrested one pedestrian coming from Bishnah and recovered 20 bottles of Corex, 540 intoxicant capsules and 165 tablets from his possession during Naka at Salehar.

A case was registered under relevant section and further investigation of the case is going on to ascertain the source of the consignment.
