A local meteorological department on Sunday predicted that weather in Jammu and Kashmir is likely to remain dry for the next three days.

An official of the local Met Department said that the weather conditions across the Valley would remain dry till December 26, 2018. “After Dec 26, there is a possibility of bad weather for one or two days,” he said.

As the Kashmir valley continues to reel under an intense cold, the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, recorded a minimum temperature of minus 4.4 degrees Celsius. The night temperature in Qazigund town in south Kashmir was minus 4.2 degrees Celsius while nearby Kokernag town registered minus 3.8 degrees Celsius last night, the official said.

Gulmarg, the famous skiing resort in north Kashmir, recorded minus 5.5 degrees Celsius. The night temperature in Pahalgam – the famous health resort which also serves as one of the base camps for the annual Amarnath Yatra – settled at a low of minus 6.7 degrees

Jammu city recorded 6.7, Katra 6.0, Batote 1.5, Banihal 0.9 and 0.1 in Bhaderwah. Leh in Ladakh was the coldest place in the state where minimum temperature was minus 14.3 and Kargil was at minus 14.5 degrees.
