Detained JKLF leader’s wife Mushaal Hussein Mullick organized a sit-in protest outside National Press Club in Islamabad against atrocities in Kashmir, a statement issued by Mrs Malik said.

She was joined by Convener World Minorities Alliance and Organizer Awaami Maseeha Party J Salik and other leaders of Hurriyet living in Pakistan. It was attended by lawyers, doctors, students, human rights activists, religious figures, politicians, intellectuals, writers, professors, Hurriyet leadership and minority leaders.

“The leaders and activists raised slogans against Delhi and demanded demilitarization of Kashmir, uplifting of army curfew and economic blockade, repealing of draconian laws, release of all political prisoners, holding of free and fair plebiscite as per UNSC resolutions, and stoppage of mass blinding, handicapping, maiming, raping, and killing of innocent Kashmiri people,” the statement said.

The participants of the sit-in stressed that the international human rights organizations must take notice of state terrorism in Kashmir, the statement said. They urged world bodies, particularly United Nations Human Rights Council, to send their fact finding missions to monitor the scale and depth of human rights violations.

J Salik, head of world minorities’ alliance, continuously put mud on his head during six hours sit-in as a protest against the human rights violations in Kashmir. He said that the purpose of protest with mud is to show that humanity is hidden under the mud, the statement added.
