Hurriyat g Protest

To express solidarity with the Muslims of Jammu, separatist organizations including Tehreek-e-Hurriyat, Freedom League and Dukhtaran-e-Millat here in Kashmir staged protests on Friday and reiterated that Muslims of Jammu and are not alone but Kashmir’s have stood for them in past and will stand for them in future as well. The call for expressing solidarity with the Muslims of Jammu was given by Hurriyat octogenarian Syed Ali Geelani.

Eyewitnesses told CNS that Dukhtaran-e-Millat and Muslim Khawateen Markaz took out a procession from Jamia Masjid Srinagar. The participants were shouting slogans in support of Jammu Muslims and were denouncing the wickedness of Hindutva forces going on in Jammu and its adjacent districts.

Speaking on the occasion Aasiya Andrabi said that Jammu Kashmir is a single entity and the Muslims of valley will in no circumstances leave their Jammu brethren alone. DeM president repeated, the already expressed concern that since the present government has taken over, Hindutva forces have started treating Jammu to be their conquered area. She said that Hindutva forces are making Jammu Muslims feel as second class citizens despite of the fact that the state primarily belongs to Muslims. Assuring every possible support to the Jammu Muslims she said, “You are not alone and let all the communal forces note this thing, Kashmiri’s will in no circumstances leave you alone but you need to understand your duties towards the movement”.

Hurriyat (g) activists including Imtiyaz Shah, Altaf Ahmed Shah and Imtiyaz Hyder led a protest march to express solidarity with Jammu Muslim at Saraibala soon after Friday prayers. The march was taken out from Iqra Masjid that culminated peacefully. The activists of Hurriyat (g) carrying placards and banners denounced the present government policies towards Jammu Muslims. They alleged that Muslims in Jammu are being harassed on the one or the other pretext.

To express solidarity with Jammu Muslims, the constituent of Hurriyat (g), Jammu Kashmir Freedom League activists also staged protest in different towns of Kashmir Valley. Freedom League leaders led protest marches in Pulwama, Shopian, Ganderbal, and Baramulla districts.
