Incarcerated Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) chairperson Syedah Asiya Andrabi was on Saturday shifted to Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) for treatment, sources said.

DeM sources said for the last couple of days Andrabi complained of severe allergy due to which her whole body was itching.

Today, as her condition worsened, the doctors at the Central Jail Srinagar asked the Jail authorities to take her to a tertiary care hospital for treatment, they said.

“Doctors at SKIMS conducted a necessary medical check-up and she was discharged and taken back to the Central Jail Srinagar,” sources said.

Andrabi is an asthma patient and is also suffering from orthopedic problems. She is undergoing detention Since April. She was earlier lodged in Amphalla jail in Jammu. However, a local Court quashed the PSA order against her on August 31. On Oct 5, she along with her personal secretary was shifted to Central jail Srinagar in an old case.
