India Condemns Repeated Attacks on Saudi Arabia

   

SRINAGAR: India has strongly condemned repeated attacks on Saudi Arabia’s King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, which reportedly killed 12 people and injured more than 300, including 11 Indian nationals.

In a statement, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) expressed condolences to the families of those killed and wished the injured a speedy recovery. It said attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure were unacceptable and must stop immediately.

India also expressed solidarity with the government and people of Saudi Arabia in defending the country’s sovereignty, while voicing hope that peace and normalcy would return to the region at the earliest.

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said on Sunday that the Indian Embassy in Riyadh was taking all necessary steps following the attack.

The embassy said in a social media post that 11 Indians were among those injured and confirmed that it was in contact with local authorities to ascertain their well-being. Embassy officials had also contacted hospitals to check on the condition of the injured Indian nationals.
