SRINAGAR: India national cricket team booked a place in the final of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 after defeating England cricket team by seven runs in a gripping semi-final at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday.
Opting to bat first, India posted a formidable 253 for 7 in their 20 overs. The innings was led by a blistering 89 off 42 balls from Sanju Samson, while the middle order chipped in with vital runs to push the total past the 250 mark.
In reply, England launched a strong chase, driven by an explosive 105 off 46 deliveries from Jacob Bethell. However, India’s bowlers kept their composure in the final overs to restrict England to 246 for 7, sealing a narrow seven-run victory.
With the win, India progressed to the tournament final, where they will face New Zealand national cricket team in the title clash.
