National Conference president Farooq Abdullah on Thursday said India faced a threat from within and not from the outside.

“India does not face any threat from the outside. China, Pakistan cannot do any damage; someone within the country is hell bent on spoiling everything,” Abdullah was quoted as saying by Times Now.

“You talk about uniting the country but it is you who are creating an atmosphere of division,” the three time JK CM said without naming anyone.

He further said the Kashmiris chose India over Pakistan during partition because India guaranteed equality.

“We could have easily gone with Pakistan in 1947 but we decided to stay with India where everyone is treated equal. I say it with pride that I am an Indian Muslim,” Abdullah said.

Abdullah had recently warned that a “far greater revolt” than the 2008 Amarnath land agitation would break out if the Article 35A is tinkered with.
