SRINAGAR: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has officially announced that the Vice Presidential election will take place on September 9.
According to multiple media reports, the Commission shared that the official notification for the election will be released on August 7, paving the way for candidates to file their nominations. The last date for submission of nomination papers is August 21, ensuring ample time for preparations and scrutiny.
In a move to ensure transparency and efficiency, the results of the election will be declared on the same day as the polling September 9 allowing the nation to promptly welcome its new Vice President.
The election follows the resignation of former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar in July, and now, the country looks ahead with optimism to the selection of a new leader who will help shape India’s future.
