The armies of India and Pakistan on Thursday exchanged heavy fire, shelling on the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district, officials said

“Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire and targetted forward posts along the Line of Control (LoC) at village Bandichechian village Gulpur tehsil Havali in Poonch district,” officials said.

“Indian troops guarding the LoC retaliated and the exchange of fire between the two sides continued intermittently since last night till today morning,” an official said.

There was no immediate report of any casualty in the firing, he said.

However, several residential houses got damaged due to the shelling in the village, he added. (GNS)
