SRINAGAR: India reported a total of 25,166 new coronavirus cases and 437 deaths in the last 24 hours, the lowest since March 16, according to the health ministry data updated on Tuesday.

The country’s cumulative caseload declined to 3,69,846, of which total recoveries were at 3,14,48,754 across the country. In the last 24 hours, active cases decreased by 12,101.

Among all the states, Kerala has registered the maximum number of cases at 12,294, followed by Maharashtra with 4,145 cases, Tamil Nadu with 1,851 cases, Karnataka with 1,065 cases and Andhra Pradesh with 909 cases.

80.52 per cent of the country’s total new cases have been reported from these five states, with Kerala alone responsible for 48.85 per cent.

Maximum casualties were reported in Kerala at 142, followed by Maharashtra with 100 fresh deaths, as reported on Tuesday.

A total of 36,830 patients recovered in the last 24 hours, with India’s recovery rate standing at 97.51 per cent.

India conducted 15,63,985 tests during the previous day, according to the data.

A total of 88,13,919 doses were administered under the Nationwide Vaccination Drive on Monday, bringing the total tally of doses administered to 55,47,30,609.
