SRINAGAR: India reported 27,254 new cases of Covid-19 and 219 deaths from the disease in 24 hours, said the health ministry on Monday, marking a 4.6 per cent decline in daily infections than Sunday.
The country has 33.26 million Covid cases in total and 442,874 people have died from the disease, said the ministry. Active cases declined by 10,652 since Sunday, it said, referring to patients till under treatment.
Goa has extended its Covid-19 “curfew” by another week to September 20 and mandated five- day quarantine for persons travelling to the state from Kerala.
Amid the ongoing pandemic, a record 1.5 million candidates appeared for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) on Sunday at over 3,800 centres across the country.
