India suppressing dissent in Kashmir by ‘military might’: Malik

Srinagar

Terming the claims of India as the largest democracy in the world as “bogus and absurd”, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Frot chairperson, Muhammad Yasin Malik on Friday said that India is the only democracy in the world, which keeps its political opponents in jails and suppresses the voices of dissent by “military might”.

“India is the only so-called democratic country which is suppressing the voice of dissent by military might and is suppressing kashmiri nation’s aspirations of freedom by bullets, pellets and incarcerations,” Malik said in a statement issued here.

Malik said that thousands of Kashmir’s are languishing in jails and police stations and are being subjected to “worst oppression and torture”.

He said that people languishing in jails are our heroes and by suppressing them India and its “Kashmiri stooges” will yield nothing but shame. He appealed amnesty international and ICRC to take note of the miserable condition of these inmates and use their influence to ensure their safety and release.

I agree to the Terms and Conditions of Kashmir Life
