The move follows new US regulations under Executive Order No. 14324, set to take effect on August 29, which require stricter duty collection and data-sharing mechanisms. Airlines and carriers have informed the Indian Postal Department of their inability to carry consignments without the mandated systems in place.

The suspension will remain in force until further notice. Officials said refunds will be provided for items already booked but undelivered. The department added it is monitoring the situation and working to resume services at the earliest, reports NDTV.
