The Embassy of India in Kuwait expressed deep condolences over the death, confirming the victim’s demise in a post on X. It said it was in contact with the bereaved family and coordinating with Kuwaiti authorities to provide assistance to those affected.

“The Embassy is in touch with the bereaved family and is closely coordinating with the Kuwaiti authorities to render all possible support and assistance,” the mission stated.

Authorities said Iranian drones struck parts of Kuwait International Airport, causing significant damage to a passenger terminal and resulting in at least one fatality.

The incident occurred amid heightened regional tensions involving Iran and the United States, despite ongoing ceasefire efforts. US officials said multiple drones targeting American forces in Kuwait were intercepted, while missiles fired towards the country reportedly malfunctioned mid-air.

The US military further stated that allied forces intercepted additional missiles and drones aimed at Bahrain, where the US Navy’s Fifth Fleet is based. In response, US forces carried out strikes on an Iranian military ground control site on Qeshm Island in the Strait of Hormuz.

Both Washington and Tehran have described their actions as retaliatory, with tensions continuing to strain fragile ceasefire arrangements across the region.
