SRINAGAR

On India’s 69 I-Day function in summer capital, JK CM Mufti Muhammad Sayeed Saturday said Indo-Pak talk of reconciliation will greatly benefit Kashmir.

While unfurling tri-colour at Srinagar’s Bakshi Stadium, Mufti said the ruling PDP-BJP coalition was formed to bring Jammu, Ladakh and Kashmir together. “Our agenda is development and equitable distribution of resources and opportunities,” he said. “We are committed to strengthening trade and people-to-people contact across the borders.”

Mufti said peace through dialogue and reconciliation is the only way forward between India and Pakistan whose biggest beneficiary would be the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

August 15 function was observed amid tight security with authorities snapping cellular services.
