Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday said that he is disappointed at the arrogant and negative response by the Indian government on his call for the resumption of peace dialogues.

Taking to social networking site twitterkHan wrote: “Disappointed at the arrogant & negative response by India to my call for the resumption of the peace dialogue. However, all my life I have come across small men occupying big offices who do not have the vision to see the larger picture.”

Earlier on Friday, India had had called off the meeting between foreign minister Sushma Swaraj and her Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi that was to take place on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, citing the killing of three policemen in Shopian district of south Kashmir as well as the release of postal stamps glorifying militant Burhan Wani.

Indian foreign ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said: “There would be no meeting between the foreign ministers any longer.”

On Thursday, news emerged that Imran Khan had written a letter to PM Modi, seeking to re-start the talks on key issues including Kashmir.
