A Hurriyat delegation sent by Chairman All Parties Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Geelani today held a detailed meeting for one and a half hours with Pakistan High Commissioner Abdul Basit in New Delhi in which they held a detailed discussed over the recent meeting of Indian Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj and Pakistan rulers on the occasion of “Heart of Asia” Conference in Islamabad and also discussed the Kashmir policy there.
According to the Hurriyat spokesperson, Ayaz Akbar, the personal secretary to chairman Peer Saifullah and Chief Organizer APHC (g) Altaf Ahmad Shah held a detailed meeting with the Pakistani High Commissioner, Deputy High Commissioner and the other officials in New Delhi on Monday.
The Hurriyat delegation handed them a message of octogenarian Geelani “that Pakistan should continue to maintain consistency and firmness over its Kashmir policy and play an active role in highlighting the human rights violations committed by Indian forces in Jammu & Kashmir on the international forums”.
The delegation also apprised the Pakistan High Commissioner about the present situation in Kashmir, a Hurriyat (g) statement said this evening.
Meanwhile, the Hurriyat delegation also visited the AIIMS in New Delhi where they met senior journalist and editor of the English daily Rising Kashmir, Shujaat Bukhari, who is being treated there and extended good wishes of Geelani to him and they also prayed for his speedy and early recovery.
