SRINAGAR: Border Security Force (BSF) personnel said on Wednesday that they thwarted an infiltration attempt along the International Border (IB) in the Pathankot sector, neutralising an intruder who ignored repeated warnings.
According to a statement from PRO BSF Jammu, the incident occurred in the pre-dawn hours at Border Outpost (BOP) Tashpatan, where BSF troops detected suspicious movement across the border.
“An individual was spotted crossing the IB. Despite being challenged by alert troops, he continued moving forward, forcing BSF personnel to take decisive action,” the statement said.
The identity and motive of the intruder are under investigation. Meanwhile, BSF has confirmed that a strong protest will be lodged with the Pakistan Rangers over the incident. [KNT]
