Army on Friday claimed to have foiled an infiltration bid near Line of Control (LoC) in Gurez sector of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
A senior army official said that a group of 5-6 militants tried to sneak in during wee hours today, however, the army’s 36 RR deployed there challenged them.
After being challenged, the intruders opened heavy fire upon the army guarding the fence ensuing a gunfight, he said, adding that the militants later returned back.
The official said the search operation in the area has been launched. (GNS)
