SRINAGAR: Army on Sunday claimed to have foiled an infiltration bid by killing an unidentified militant in Machil sector of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
A Srinagar based Defence spokesperson Col Rajesh Kalia said the suspicious move of unidentified persons detected by patrolling party near LoC fence at Machil Sector late last night at 0100h.
He said that militants trying to infiltrate intercepted by own troops and one militant was killed.
“One AK 47 rifle and two bags recovered,” he said, adding that a search operation is currently on in the area.
