Station House Officer (SHO) Nigeen, Manzoor Ahmad Beig, who had sustained injuries during clashes between youth and forces on the foreshore road in Srinagar yesterday, was airlifted to Delhi by the Jammu and Kashmir police for specialized treatment.
SSP Srinagar Imtiyaz Ismail confirmed to Kashmir life that the injured officer has been airlifted to Delhi for specialized treatment.
Beig has earlier served as SHO Pampore during post-Burhan Wani unrest in 2016. “He was credited and widely respected for keeping Pampore incident-free during those difficult days,” said a local wishing not to be named.
