SRINAGAR

The traffic department Thursday issued 15 days deadline to the commercial three wheelers in valley to install fare meters or face cancellation of licenses.

Talking to KNS, DIG Traffic Kashmir Alok Kumar said 15-days of deadline has been given to the rickshaw drivers for the installation of fare meters in their vehicles.

He maintained that if the commercial three wheelers fail to comply the government order, further action would include the cancellation of licenses.

Kumar sought the support of Kashmir’s civil society in such an effort, saying it will provide respite to people from getting overcharged by the rickshaw drivers in Srinagar and other areas.
