With the business community crying foul over what it terms the inordinate delay in the relief and rehabilitation,  the Insurance companies  claim of have settled more than two thousand cases of the traders who were hit by the ravaging floods of September last year and were given Rs 2500 Crore rupees as insurance claims.

According to reports received by KNS, the insurance companies here have claimed that they have settled more than two thousand cases of the flood hit traders and that 90 percent of the amounts have been disbursed to the affected lot.

Reports informed further that the insurance companies have disbursed the amounts to shopkeepers, whole sale dealers and distributors. Reports informed that the insurance companies claim to have settled 90 percent of the total claims they received after the ravaging September floods of the year 2014.

It was informed further that till May 2015, Rs 2500 Crore have been given as a claim amount to the flood affected traders of Kashmir valley.

Pertinently, the government earlier came under severe criticism of not extending any assistance to those traders who have no insurance claims and  the flood affected families continue to remain up in arms, saying merely Rs 3800 have been given to those whose houses got devastated during September deluge.
