SRINAGAR: An inter-ministerial team, formed by Union Home Minister Amit Shah to investigate the “mystery” deaths, has arrived in Budhal village, Rajouri.
An official said that the team includes experts from some of the most reputed institutions in the country. Their mandate is to ascertain the cause of the deaths that have claimed 17 lives in the village over the past 50 days.
Jammu and Kashmir Health Minister Sakina Itoo has previously ruled out the possibility of a virus or infection as the cause of these fatalities.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah had ordered the formation of the inter-ministerial team on Saturday. Additionally, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have constituted an 11-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the mysterious deaths. (KNO)
