SRINAGAR: Mobile internet and phone services were suspended in Uri on Monday as counter-infiltration operation are underway for the last 24 hours, news agency IANS reported.
Defence sources told IANS that reinforcements have been called in and a large area has been brought under operation.
Last night, ANI reported that suspicious movement was detected along the Line of Control (LoC) in Uri.
“An infiltration attempt has been made and we are looking for them. It is unclear whether they are still on this side or have gone back after the infiltration attempt,” said Army’s Srinagar-headquartered 15 Corps commander Lt Gen DP Pandey.
He said that forces are on high alert to prevent infiltration attempts along the LoC.
