Internet services, including landline broadband connections, were restored in Srinagar city on Tuesday evening after remaining suspended for three consecutive days as a “precautionary measure”.

The internet services were snapped on May 6, following an encounter between the government forces and militants in Badigam village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.

Five civilians were killed after forces opened fire into protesters in Shopian on May 6, who were demonstrating against the death of five militants, including to Hizb commander Saddam Padder, in Badigam village of the south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
