SRINAGAR: A youth in his early twenties, who was apprehended near LoC in the Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir by the Indian Army on Monday, turned out to be an Afghan national, officials said.

As per media reports, the youth identified as Abdul Wahid, in his early twenties, had inadvertently crossed the Line of Control from Pakistan. Initially believed to be a Pakistani national, Wahid was later handed over to the police for further questioning.

Except for some Pakistani currency notes, nothing incriminating was found from him, media reports said, adding that he appeared to have crossed over to this side inadvertently.
