SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has relieved IPS officer Nikhil Borkar from the Union Territory to take up a new assignment with the Government of India.
As per Government Order No. 198-Home of 2026 dated April 2, the officer has been relieved in pursuance of a communication received from the Ministry of Home Affairs and with the approval of the competent authority.
According to the order, Nikhil Borkar (IPS, AGMUT:2017) stands relieved from JK with effect from April 2, 2026 (afternoon), to join his new posting at the Centre.
