SRINAGAR: The Central Government has approved the inter-cadre transfer of 2021-batch Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Diksha from the Bihar cadre to the AGMUT cadre on the grounds of marriage.
The transfer was cleared after her marriage to IPS officer Dwarka Gaddi, who belongs to Jammu and Kashmir and is currently serving in the AGMUT cadre.
Dwarka Gaddi, a resident of Bishnah in Jammu district, cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination in his third attempt, securing All India Rank (AIR) 412. He completed his schooling at Shiksha Niketan Higher Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar, and pursued his graduation from MAM College, Jammu.
Officials said such inter-cadre transfers are permitted under service rules in cases where two All India Services officers are married and seek posting in the same cadre, subject to approval by the competent authority.
The AGMUT cadre covers Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram, and Union Territories including Jammu and Kashmir, Delhi, and Ladakh.
