SRINAGAR: Amid rising tensions in West Asia, Iran has executed a man accused of spying for Israel, according to the judiciary’s Mizan News Agency.
The individual, identified as Kurosh Keyvani, was, according to Mizan News Agency, convicted of allegedly sharing images and sensitive information about key locations in Iran with Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad.
This follows a similar execution on January 28, when Iran put to death Hamidreza Sabet Esmaeilipour on charges of working as a Mossad agent, as reported by the judiciary’s media outlet.
Meanwhile, hostilities between Iran and Israel have escalated sharply, with Israel carrying out targeted strikes on Iranian security leadership and infrastructure, including the killing of senior figures such as Ali Larijani. Iran has responded with large-scale missile and drone attacks targeting Israeli cities and US-aligned Gulf infrastructure, while Israel has also intensified operations against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
