SRINAGAR: Rest of India reached 120 for two at lunch on the third day of the Irani Cup against Jammu and Kashmir at the Sher-i-Kashmir Stadium in Srinagar on Saturday, taking their overall lead to 79 runs.
Sanat Sangwan was unbeaten on 52 after completing his half-century, while Saransh Jain was not out on 21. The pair had put on 62 runs for the third wicket by the lunch interval.
Lone Nasir Muzaffar provided J&K with their second breakthrough by dismissing Sudip Kumar Gharami for 33, reducing Rest of India to 58 for two.
Rest of India had been bowled out for 237 in their first innings before J&K responded with 278, giving the hosts a 41-run lead.
Rest of India were 120 for two after 46.5 overs at lunch, leaving them 79 runs ahead of J&K in the second innings.
The Irani Cup match is being played at the Sher-i-Kashmir Cricket Stadium in Srinagar from 1 to 5 October.
