SRINAGAR: Three Indian nationals were injured after a drone strike originating from Iran triggered a fire at a key oil industry zone in Fujairah, United Arab Emirates, on Monday.
The incident marks a rare breach of security in the UAE following a Pakistan-mediated ceasefire between Washington and Tehran that came into effect on April 8.
In response, India has described the attack as unacceptable and called for an immediate halt to hostilities, particularly those targeting civilian infrastructure and non-combatants. New Delhi reiterated its commitment to dialogue and diplomacy as the preferred means to restore peace and stability across West Asia.
India also urged that freedom of navigation and uninterrupted commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz be maintained in accordance with international law.
It further stated its readiness to support all initiatives aimed at achieving a peaceful resolution to the ongoing tensions in the region.
