Government Friday said that three new medical colleges are being established in the State to augment the human resource for the betterment of health sector.
Speaking at a function organized by J&K Nurses’ Association at GMC Srinagar on International Nurses Day Minister of State for Health & Medical Education, Asiea Naqash said the medical colleges will be established in Baramulla, Islamabad and Rajouri districts. “The Government of India has recently approved Rs 567 crore for opening of these three Colleges at a cost Rs 189 crore per College.”
She said the State Government will soon complete the formalities for obtaining formal sanction for other two medical colleges to be established in Doda and Kathua districts, as Government of India has raised certain queries in this regard.
She further said that 10 nursing colleges are also being established in the State.
On the occasion, the Minister praised the services rendered by the nurses in health care. She stressed on hi tech training program for nurses and assured support to the aspirants who are pursuing nurse courses.
