Following the burial of a local militant killed in Islamabad gunfight, at least seven men were injured after clashes broke out between the protestors and government forces in Khudwani area of south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Wednesday.

Reports said that soon after the slain militant Bilal Ahmad Dar, was laid to rest, the youth took to the streets and clashed with government forces, resulting in injuries to seven people, all residents of Kulgam district.

The government forces retaliated by firing tear smoke shells and pellets to disperse the stone pelting protesters in the area.

An official from the local hospital said that they have received seven persons, five with pellet injuries and two with stone injuries.
