Residents of the Shamsipora village of district Islamabad on Thursday held a protest demonstration outside Deputy Commissioners office Islamabad, against setting up of the army camp in their village playground.

Scores of the protestors assembled outside DC office Islamabad shouting anti-government slogans.

Local residents said that panic gripped the Shamsipora area on Thursday morning after army personnel started measuring a local playground, allegedly to set up a camp there.

As per local sources, the army men refused to listen to the village elders and asked them to go and talk to the Deputy Commissioner.

The residents later went to the DC office Islamabad and staged a protest,

“The land belongs to us, how can they take away that land without even letting us know,” said an elderly protester.
