Srinagar: Addressing the notion that poverty should be no hindrance to education, Career Care of Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba, Tehsil Baramulla has taken an initiative to support the poor and needy for their requirements of books and uniforms.
The drive titled, ‘Books and Uniforms Donation Drive’ has garnered a massive public support as more than 1000 old and new uniforms and books worth Rs. 50,000 were collected within two days of the campaign, a statement reads.
The collection centres were nominated as Govt Degree Colleges Boys Baramulla, Women’s College Baramulla, Boys Hr Sec School, Baramulla, Girls Hr Sec School Baramulla and St Joseph’s Hr Sec School Baramulla.
IJT Career Care Tehsil Baramulla has decided to continue with this collection process via door to door visits to donors who may contact the organisation on phone no. 9906662366.
The donors received gifts as tokens of appreciation from the organisation. IJT Career Care has expressed whole hearted gratitude to the people of Baramulla especially the students for supporting the cause.
