The Israeli military said its troops acted to “remove a threat” posed by individuals who had crossed a boundary demarcating an initial Israeli pullback area under a U.S.-brokered ceasefire agreement, calling it a violation of the truce terms.

Gaza’s health authority, as per Sky News, reported that six Palestinians were killed in two separate incidents across the enclave on Tuesday, underscoring the fragility of the recently implemented ceasefire.

The incident came a day after Hamas released the remaining living Israeli hostages and Israel freed busloads of Palestinian detainees under the ceasefire deal. U.S. President Donald Trump hailed the development on Monday (October 13) as marking the end of the two-year-long war that has devastated Gaza and destabilised the wider West Asia region.
