SRINAGAR: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was admitted to a hospital in Jerusalem on Monday evening, according to a statement reportedly issued by his office after local media first reported the development.

Reports citing his office said Netanyahu was undergoing dental treatment, although no additional details were provided. The Times of Israel reported that the treatment took place at Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Centre.
About a month earlier, the 76-year-old said he had been treated for a malignant prostate tumour and later stated that he was in good health. He also said he had delayed the release of his medical report to prevent Iran’s leadership from using it for propaganda purposes. During the recent conflict with Iran, unverified social media claims circulated suggesting that he had died, prompting wider speculation about his health domestically and internationally.
Netanyahu has undergone several medical procedures in recent years. He had a pacemaker implanted in July 2023, underwent hernia surgery in March 2024, and had prostate removal surgery in December 2024. He also recovered at home last year after suffering from intestinal inflammation.
The prime minister has faced intermittent health issues over time, though no new complications were officially reported in connection with his latest hospital visit.
