SRINAGAR

Noted broadcaster Rukhsana Jabeen on Thursday assumed charge of director Radio Kashmir (RK) Srinagar.

Jabeen was appointed as director Radio Kashmir Srinagar, replacing Bashir Arif. She was one among 53 directors appointed by Prasar Bharti for different radio stations vide order bearing number 49/214-214/PBC&DG issued on April 4.

Jabeen replaced deputy director general Bashir Arif who superannuated on Thursday. While talking to KNS, Jabeen said: “My first priority will be to clear the pending liabilities. Artists are waiting for clearance for their bills for the last many months so I will work in this direction first. Besides clearing liabilities, I think there is lot of scope for the improvement in Radio Kashmir. So I will go through all the areas in need of an overhaul.”
