Jail authorities on Thursday started e- prison management system in all the jails of the state in a bid to digitize the data related to the inmates.
DGP said that the software shall computerize and integrate all the activities related to prison and the prisoner’s management in the first phase and in the second phase sharing of information regarding the prisoners amongst various jails and other components of criminal justice system will be taken up.
DGP also stressed on ‘proper training’ off the prison staff in handling the software.
A meeting under the chairmanship of DGP jails S K Mishra was held in which representatives of NIC, jakeGA, jail superintendents of the valley and other prison official participated.
