SRINAGAR: Finance Minister Arun Jaitley thanked the state government for making “outstanding” arrangement for hosting the two day GST Council meet. All the finance ministers of Indian states, one represented by a Chief Minister and a few by Deputy Chief Ministers, are attending the conclave.
“On behalf of everyone present here I want to thank for the outstanding arrangement,” Jaitley said at the beginning of the deliberations.
He was addressing the Finance Ministers of all the states at the inaugural day of GST meet at SKICC on the banks of world famous Dal Lake in the summer capital Srinagar.
“Before we all came here there was a lurking doubt in the minds of many of us as to what is the environment in the state as to whether we will have to be here or not?” Jaitely said. “We all seen since yesterday the environment and I am sure the next two days also we will have a very successful meeting. And the state government has also made the arrangements for us to stay here.”
He said the arrangements were not excellent but outstanding.
He said people will be curious to know what happened inside the meeting and final outcome and the environment of the state.
