Jama’at-i-Islami J&K on Wednesday condemned the use of unjustified force by the government forces personnel upon the journalists who were performing their professional duties in Shopian. On Tuesday, besides, civilians, four journalists were injured after government forces allegedly fired pellets on them.

The spokesman said that the action is not only “inhuman” but quite against the basic fundamental rights particularly the freedom of speech. In another incident, a teenager from Habakadal Srinagar Mohammad Younis got seriously injured when a party of forces personnel ‘threw stones and bricks’ upon him without any apparent and just cause. The innocent injured has received a head injury and is lying in a hospital in a very critical condition.

Jama’at appeals to the world community to take serious note of the “state terrorism” the hapless people of Kashmir are facing and take effective measures to bring the violators to justice as per the international law relating thereto.
