Jama’at-e-Islami condemns attack on Amarnath Yatris

Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday condemned the attack on Amarnath Yatris by suspected militants at Batengoo area of Islamabad district.

“We express deep concern over the killing of seven innocent Amarnath Hindu Yatris and others who got injured,” a statement issued by Jama’at reads.

It further adds: “It is an act of cowardice and not justifiable from any angle and as such is condemned.”

Jamaat Islami Jammu and Kashmir expresses solidarity with all the bereaved families and with the injured too, the statement added.

A Jama’at spokesperson said that the incident needs an impartial probe by any international agency to find out the truth.
