Jama’at-e-Islami Jammu and Kashmir expresses its deep shock over the loss of a highly qualified young and budding intellectual of Kashmir Dr Abdul Manan Wani along with his associate.

The spokesman said that this “bloodshed” is the result of non-resolution of the long pending Kashmir issue badly affecting millions of people living in Jammu and Kashmir region despite the fact that they have been promised a number of times through the United Nations Security Council by way of resolutions, signed by both India and Pakistan as far back as in 1947, 1948 and 1949 that they would be allowed to determine their political future according to their own aspirations.

After the passage of some years, India began to claim Jammu and Kashmir to be its integral part which is quite against the historical facts. If India is sincere in stopping the violence and the human loss in this region, then it should come forward and start a meaningful dialogue with the government of Pakistan and the real representatives of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and find a just and stable solution of this human issue keeping in view the aspirations of the people living therein.

Furthermore, Jama’at expresses its deep concern over the mysterious killing of freedom loving young activist Tariq Ahmad Ganaie of Meemander Shopian by some merciless unknown gunmen and expresses its solidarity and deep sympathy with the bereaved family. Jama’at demands an impartial probe into such killings by some international agency so that the culprits behind these killings are exposed before the public.
