Religious preacher and Jamiat Alhadees vice-president Moulvi Mushtaq Veeri and Difaye Jamiat Alhadees leader Moulana Maqbool Afrani were arrested by Police on Saturday late night.

Earlier, forces arrested around 200 leaders and activists of Jamaat-i-Islami including its Chief Dr Hameed Fayaz. JKLF chief Muhammad Yasin Malik was also detained on Friday evening from his Maisuma residence and lodged in police station Kothibagh.

Meanwhile, a complete shutdown is being observed across the Kashmir against the mass arrests of separatist leaders.

Mobile Internet high speed has been reduced in many parts of the Kashmir Valley and restrictions under Section 144 have been imposed in areas under five police stations in Srinagar.
