Clashes erupted in Banger Mohalla area of Hajin in Jammu and Kashmir’s Bandipora district after forces cordoned off the area.
Reports said that as soon as forces cordoned off Banger Mohalla, locals hit the streets and pelted forces with stones. “The forces responded by firing several tear smoke shells, triggering clashes.”
They said on a tip-off about the presence of militants, Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Special Operation Group (SOG) of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF launched a joint search operation in some areas in Hajin of Bandipora.
