SRINAGAR: A 4.3 magnitude earthquake struck the Chenab Valley, with its epicentre in the Gundoh area of Doda district, early Sunday morning..
The earthquake shook the region at around 6:14 am, though it lasted for a short period.
“We don’t often experience such moderate earthquakes at home, but today it woke us all up. The tremor was strong enough that no one could leave their homes,” a resident of Doda town said.
In recent years, the Chenab Valley has experienced frequent earthquakes. Experts believe that such moderate quakes release pressure, reducing the likelihood of a larger one.
As per early reports, no loss of life or property has been reported from anywhere—(KNO).
